This past year has been one of great achievements for Roberto as a result of the relentless training he has put in both in and out of the pool. In March, Roberto became the British National Champion in the 100m Butterfly, 200m Butterfly and the 200m Backstroke. In April, he upset the Australians in spectacular fashion by becoming the Australian Age Group Champion in both the 200m and the 400m Individual Medley. This season culminated in fantastic style in July with Roberto becoming the 400m Individual Medley European Junior Champion in Prague, defending his previous title at this event. Described as 'focused and determined', Roberto continues to achieve new levels in his sport and is an inspiration to many around him.

- James Huckle Shooting
-
James's success in shooting comes from rather humble beginnings as he originally took up the sport after it was discovered that his father's farm had a vermin problem. His achievements to date include becoming the first Triple Gold Medallist during the Youth Commonwealth Games as well as winning a gold medal earlier this year at Australia's Youth Olympic Festival. James has also won several British Championships, including those at senior level, and he has achieved two new British National and International records. James has a demanding training regime and is absolutely committed to succeeding at every level of his sport. During his short career he has demonstrated his commitment to British shooting and aims to participate at London 2012.
- Marcus Hunt Athletics
-
Marcus started 2009 in great style with a win at the Essex County Junior 400 metres final followed by selection for Essex to run in the Senior Inter Counties Championship at Bedford where he finished 6th. After taking silver in the English Schools Senior Boys 400 metres final Marcus was selected to be part of Team GB for the European Junior Championships in Serbia in July. Marcus raced in the 4 x 400 metres relay where they won their heat; although Marcus did not race in the final Team GB won meaning that he came home with a European Gold medal. Marcus has a bright future in athletics and his coach believes he can represent Team GB in full senior level and at London 2012.
